Who we are

Sirens to Horizons is operated by Silence Between Sirens CIC, a community interest company registered in England and Wales, company number 17272483. Registered office: Unit 16, Chivenor Business Park, Barnstaple, EX31 4AY. Silence Between Sirens CIC is the data controller for this site. Responsibility for your data may pass to a dedicated Sirens to Horizons organisation in future; if it does, we will update this notice and tell anyone affected.

The Skills Translator

What you select in the Skills Translator stays in your browser. It is not sent to us or stored, and your summary is created on your own device. The site remembers which service you chose, in your own browser only, so it can show the right version next time. The one exception is if you add a qualification we have not listed and choose to share it: we then receive the qualification you typed and the qualification items you selected in that step, through Web3Forms, with no name or contact details. We use it only to improve the Skills Translator.

When you contact us

The contact form asks for your name, email address, what your message is about and the message itself. A form service, Web3Forms, passes it to our inbox. We use your details only to reply, and keep messages for twelve months, then delete them unless the conversation is ongoing. The same applies if you email us directly; our email is provided by Microsoft 365.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We count visits using Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you; it tells us how many people visit and which pages they read, so we can improve the site. While the site is in its private preview, it sets one small cookie to remember that you opened the preview link. It is needed for the preview to work, holds nothing about you, and will be removed when the site opens to everyone. Fonts are served from this site rather than from a third party.

Who else sees data

Cloudflare hosts the site and sees technical information such as IP addresses to keep it secure. Web3Forms delivers contact form messages. Microsoft provides our email. We never sell or share your information for marketing.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing info@sirenstohorizons.com. We will answer within a month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
